First, fly to San Diego, then to Vancouver BC, where Grandma and Grandpa treated the whole family to an Alaska cruise! One week on Holland America's Westerdam, visiting Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay and Ketchekan. First cruise for us and not the last!
Then a couple days in Vancouver -- great town.
Back to SD for a few days, followed by a drive up the coast to San Francisco. Stayed in a great B&B, the Rancho San Gregorio Inn, toured the city, showed Laura Stanford U., then down the central valley for a wild day in Disneyland. Worst hotel of the trip, but a good time at the park.
Finally back to SD and then home. Whew...
|Why, you might ask, do we have a receipt from a Ramada Inn near Baltimore-Washington Airport for the night BEFORE we left? Well, you should ask, Durn it, because it relates to quite a coup parking-wise. You see, Laura came in to BWI the night before our departure. Seems as though our globe-trotting daughter had just come back from the Galapagos Islands and 9 days living on a motor yacht. But that's another website. Anyhow, picking her up, returning home, then turning right around early the next morning to truck back to BWI was too horrible to contemplate, so we started checking on hotels. And, son of a gun, the Ramada Inn not only let us stay for a modest amount, but let us leave the car there the whole time we were gone (over three weeks). So we actually saved money over parking, and they bussed us to and from the terminal. What a deal.|
|This is it! The original, 10-of-a-kind, Al and Lorraine official 50th anniversary issue baseball cap. Don't look for this baby in the stores anytime soon (although some jaded family member might offer one on E-bay if they get bored enough).||
